Over the past five years I have tried many web hosting companies, and none of them have matched my needs on customer service, downtime and general satisfaction.
HostGator offers it all. Great customer support, great service, and great uptime. Support tickets are answered within minutes, and your answers are in a form non-geeks can understand. Live chat is almost always on and gives instant answers.

Amongst the best!
HostGator is a famous hosting company, known for their US-based support and amusing package names. They now offer UNLIMITED bandwith and UNLIMITED storage. Everybody knows this is no such thing as UNLIMITED, but it's still a great offer. Their live chat is always on (it seems), and their support speak in plain English, making it easier for non technical people. If you're looking for a great host, look no further than HostGator!

DJ's experience of HostGator
Their service is very good, and after payment you recieve your details nice and easy. It's also quick reply to your support questions, and the customer service is very good.
But when I bought their Hosting a while back for an old DJ site, it had a few problems with the encoder for the broadcasting software and I contacted them and they did reply but couldn't sort it. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford to buy another host and shut it down.
The problem wasn't down to the customer service, oh no. They didn't have experience with DJ sites and couldn't fix the problem. So I couldn't possibly use their hosting.
So in that respect, I was a little dissapointed in them, but it is cheap, and efficient. (Most of the time!) i would use them for any other kind of site but they are not right for dj sites you need something with software like shoutcast
